9/30/2010...Prayer in schools and the work place and before sporting events.

http://www.foxnews.com/us/2010/09/29/florida-parent-protests-prayer-ritual-football-games/

Ok, I just have to put my two cents in on prayer in public places...I am really tired of hearing people say that Christians are trying to push our religion down their throats...The fact of the matter is that those of other religions want to shove their false beliefs down the Christians throats..I have always prayed before any sporting event I was involved in...In our school we always said the Lord's Prayer before our game and then during warm-ups before the game I would go to the corner of the end zone, basketball court or wherever and say my own prayer to the Lord....And you want to know something..I was not raised in a Christian house, never attended church and would not have called myself a Christian back then but saying a prayer to our Lord and Savior NEVER offended me!!  What is wrong with praying to God and asking for His protection upon the players??  I just don't get it!!

I am also the Town Council President for the Town I live in and before every meeting I open with a prayer..I always ask God to guide the Council in their decisions and that this Town is His and to let His will be done for this Town..And you want to know something...His will is being done in this Town, we have a Christian man who is buying the old buildings in town and he is fixing them up and bringing businesses to this town...The Town has been really close on grants and was told we may not get them but the Lord rewarded out Town because of our prayers...Prayers are a powerful thing!!

I also run my own business and I have had Bible Studies and have prayed for people and the business with other people and some of my employees...Id this a bad thing?? Nope...sometimes the only God people will see is through us...

As you can tell I am really sick and tired of hearing how we Christians shove our religion down others throat...The fact of the matter is I am really sick of people pushing their religion down everyone elses throats and they think that they can shove their religion down our throats and then cry that the big bad Christians are not playing fair...It is time for the Christians to stand up and take a stand for what they believe in..

In my opinion it is time to bring prayer back into the schools, work-place and our homes...When we do this we will slowly see a revival in this country and then and only then will this country become the great power that it has been in the past!!

9/30/2010......Respect and Discipline

Ok today's blog is going to be a little different than my normal blog...I was raised to be respectful to those older than me, in a position of authority over me, to my coaches and school teachers and most definitely to my parents and grandparents...Alot of that discipline or training was drilled into me by my football Coach Larry "Bud" Wright....Coach Wright was a man of short stature and a big heart...Now don't get me wrong when Coach said it was time to get down to business we listened and if we were disrespectful we paid the price...Here is the thing I see today...Parents today need to step up to the plate and start taking responsibility for their children and for their child's behavior...You see I believe that sports can teach young men/women the discipline and respect that is needed to succeed in life...The problem is that parents today want their kids to be babied...Let me say at this point, I DO NOT CONDONE THE ABUSE OF CHILDREN PERIOD!!!  But I do support discipline...

Let me say this....Respect and Discipline should start in the home with mom and dad!!  I have seen many children look at their parents and just tell them off or back talk them...This really irks me!! If I had said some of the things to my parents that I have heard other kids say to their parents...I would have been knocked into next week and not able to sit on my rear end for a week...When my mom and dad said NO or made a decision...That was final and there was no back talking....Parents, it is not my place to tell you how to raise your kids but I am saying that alot of the kids today are disrespectful and rude to anyone older than them or has some type of authority of them...Why?? It is because of a lack of discipline at home!!  I would also like to state here that I feel alot of issues could be solved by spanking the kids on the rear end and by having the kids and family sitting together in church on Sunday...The day of family unity is slowly dying!!

Discipline and Respect in sports...Let me say that this goes for every sport baseball, basketball, volleyball, golf, football, etc.....Let me start with respect...Coach Wright always demanded respect from his players..There was never any talking when Coach was talking or any of his other assistant coaches...We were not allowed to cross our hands during practice because to him that meant you were not paying attention...When he asked a question or spoke to you it was always yes coach and no coach...The players knew that he was to be respected..He not only expected us to respect him and his coaching staff but we were to respect the teachers, our parents and our other coaches and if we ever stepped out of line Coach Wright would be there to have a talk with you....You see respect is important in sports as well as everyday life!!

Discipline in sports( all sports) is vital!! Without the discipline, you cannot teach the fundamentals needed to stay safe in the game and you cannot gain the respect that is needed....Now when I talk discipline here I am not talking about beating the kids..If a player acts up there are things like up-downs, running, sit-ups, push-ups, etc that one can use to get the child's attention...It is also, in my opinion, ok to yell at a child to get their attention...I am not talking about degrading the child or making that child feel worthless...But sometimes you have to light a fire under them to get them fired-up and sometimes that is the only way to get their attention..Now after you discipline the child, I believe you should also praise the child...They need to know what they are doing right as well as what they are doing wrong...When you discipline a child..ALWAYS discipline a child out of love...You know what I mean??

It takes everyone working together to raise a child...Parents need to step-up to the plate and support those coaches who are working with their kids, parents need to step-up and support the teachers and schools, parents need to step-up and be objective when an elderly(or neighbor) comes to talk to you about your child and parents need to step-up and support police officers and others in a position of authority when they come to talk to you about something your child may or may not have done...It is time parents to step-up!!  Coaches, teachers, Police Officers, etc it is time for us to step-up and make sure that we work with the parents and that we set a good example for the child...Cussing and degrading a child is not the example we should be....Beating a child is not the example we want to be as adults...We all need to step up and help the children reach their potential in life...

Lastly, I want to say that I think alot of today's problems are due to a lack of God in our lives...You look at many of the problems that we face today...I think things have just gotten worse and worse since God has been removed from our schools, our government and lastly our homes...You see if we put God first in all that we do and we love people the way God loved us(after all He sent His ONLY Son to die for you and me) alot of these problems would go away...So, I challenge all to bring God back into your life and into your family...And you will see changes that will amaze you, you will see attitudes change, you will see hearts change and you will see young men and women who are disciplined and respectful....

I want to give a shout out today to God...I just thank Him for the beautiful weather and the many blessings and friends He has put into my life...I am not the perfect Christian and I strive to be a better person everyday...But I will tell you the devil is a workers and he works on me daily!!

I also want to give a shout out to my friend(and Brother in Christ) Danny Douglass...I just want to say over this last year we have become really great friends and I have the up most respect for Danny...Danny gave his life to Christ and he is a completely different man!! You can see it in his eyes and in his actions..I for one appreciate his words and prayers!! Love ya Brother and thank you for being a great friend and Brother in Christ!!

9-29-2010

WOW who turned the heat off and the AC on??  Well I have not posted since well the last time I posted!! LOL...Anyways, the family is doing pretty good, my wife is studying for mid-terms and working her tail off in school...I must say that I admire her work ethics with the school work!! Not sure I could do that at my age and with all the other things I have going on in my life...My son always seems to amaze me..He is playing football this year and I am so proud of him!  He is not a starter but you know what, he is always happy to play and he enjoys his role on the team!! How awesome is that?? I have to admit, I can see where a parent might get upset because their child does not play or play enough but the fact of the matter is that once you hit the junior high level...kids may not play!!  This may not seem fair but it is what it is...My daughter is doing great in school and I think that she really likes being out on the football practice field with dad when I am coaching.  Out of my two kids she is the mean one!! LOL  Maybe someday she will want to don some football pads and show people how to hit?!? LOL  Really though she is doing great in school and she loves cheerleading and jump rope...It is kinda funny, I have my little princess who can also be a tom-boy when she needs to be!!

Well I got to stand on the sidelines last night for the first time as a football coach!!  I was asked if I would be interested in being an assistant football coach for the junior high and I was like heck yes!!  I have not coached in years and it has taken me a little bit to get used the the system and the other coaches and kind of the roles that are expected out of everyone..I love the game of football and I love working with kids, there is no greater feeling than being called coach and seeing that you can make a difference in a kids life...Anyways the 7th and 8th grade teams played last night and the 7th grade played pretty well..They won their game and their effort was there all night and they never gave up when they were backed up against a wall...I am pretty proud of the effort they put forth...The 8th grade has some heart issues..Football is a game of heart!! When the game looks like it is going out of control that is when a team needs to dig deep down inside itself and start to play with heart and purpose.  The 8th grade last night found themselves backed against a wall and did not respond well...But I have faith in the kids and know that they can and will work through this..They are young and I hope soon it will "click" with them that it takes heart to play the game.

I saw yesterday that Jimmy Carter was taken to the hospital...I will say that I was and still NOT a fan of Jimmy Carter but I hope he is ok!!  Jimmy Carter is the 2nd worse president this country has ever had (BHO is the worst) but I wish no harm on him..What really aggravates me are these people who do wish harm upon a public servant..I know I complain about BHO and his policies but I also feel for him believe it or not...I am the Town Council President here in Kirklin and believe me I have been called everything and anything!!  It is tough being in that position when you are trying to do what you think is right for your town or your country..The difference between BHO and I though is that I have a Town Council and the Council as a whole votes on every situation..It is not me personally making all the decisions..

Fantasy football....I won again!! I am 3-0 and play a friend this week who is 3-0 so one of us will be a loser this weekend!! Enough said!! LOL

I am grateful that God has allowed me the opportunity to coach again..I love being able to work with kids...I coached before and many of the kids I coached still call me to this day and they still call me coach!!  I am also thankful for the friends and families that God has put into my life...Lisa and I have many friends that have children and we love their kids like they are our own kids but over the last year we have become really close to the Rileys...Chris and Missy are really great friends and we have become close friends and really enjoy spending time with them...We love their kids like they are our own and we enjoy spending time with them..Their daughter is a sweetheart and I really appreciate the fact that a 16 year old teenager would take the time out of her busy schedule to show her love for my daughter...Myriah is such a special girl and her faith in God shows daily and her love for my daughter is precious!!  Their son is a hoot!! This kid can make me laugh like no other!! For a 6th grader he is full of spunk and I don't think he ever runs out of gas!! But he is a great kid and I have really seen him grow and mature over the last year!! Keep it up Travis, you are a great kid and you can do whatever you set your mind too!!  GOD is GOOD!!

Ahhhh Sunday...I love Sundays...This is my time to get up and go to Church...I really do look forward to going to church on Sunday Morning!!  If you do not have a home church, you should come out to the Kirklin Assembly of God and listen to Pastor Jeremy Turner preach!! He does a great job and usually keeps your attention and to make things even better they have a great sound man that runs all of the sound for the church(that would be me!!).  Also on Sundays we go to my in-laws for lunch(my mother-in-law is an awesome cook) and then it is usually an afternoon of football watching and napping!! Ahhhh I love Sundays!!

Ohhh how could I forget that today is also Fantasy Football Day!!!  As most of the games are played on Sunday, this is when most of us FF players wait with great anticipation to see how we are doing....So far in my FF League I am undefeated but you never know when that will change!!  For a football junkie like me this is the next best thing to actually playing...It is like coaching without all the practices...LOL....So anyways I checked my score tonight and I am losing but I still have some players that are playing and I will also have a player playing on Monday night...So we shall see!!

My kids were pretty good today!! Which is simply amazing to me!! usually on Sunday it is a big fight with them...They seem to like to pick on one another and to make life tough on mom and dad!!

Tonight was also Sunday Night Saturation at our church..The last Sunday of the month we have an evening service and usually it is a "free for all"...We sometimes just go in and have prayer and meditations for the evening...Sometimes Pastor will give a small sermon and sometimes it is just a time of worship and letting God's spirit move through-out the night(this is my favorite!! I love to hear the music and worship and see people praising God)!!  Well tonight it was my favorite time...The only thing bad is that I don't usually get to worship the way I would like because I am in the sound booth...Last night was kind of tough because Heidi didn't have the music in any order and told me to just follow along!! After the first few songs I gave up!! LOL

What am I thankful for today?? I am thankful for having a loving Father in heaven who will always forgive of my sins and He knows that I am a sinner but He never gives up on me...I have been doing some deep soul searching about things and I am just going to have to trust that God knows what is best!!  But again, I am thankful to have a Father who cared enough about me that He sent His only Son to die for you, me and everyone on this planet!!

9-25-2010

Well today was kind of a boring day to start out with...The family was tired and slept in this morning..My wife got up and got ready and went to buy groceries for the week and I stayed home with our children...After my wife got home my daughter and I walked up to the local gas station to get beef jerky for my daughter....Can you believe that a little girl LOVES beef jerky!!  Well I was a good dad and not only did she get beef jerky but dad got her a slushy!!  It was fun to just sit at the table and to have some father-daughter time together...She is a bull headed and very blunt little girl but she is daddy's baby and I wouldn't trade her for the world!!! Love you baby girl....When we got back from our beef jerky trip Addy and I decided that we would pick up some sticks in the yard.  After we finished picking up sticks it was time for dad to go and push Sissy on the swings...As I said it was nice to have a little bit of father-daughter time..

Later Saturday evening after my wife finished her homework we went to Thorntown's Turning of the Leaves Festival...I would have imagined that it is a nice little Festival...My family left late and got there late so just about everything was closed down...So we decided to eat at the local restuarant(The Lost Frontier is what I believe it was called) and I must say the food was pretty good and I really liked the breaded tenderlion!!  They were big and meaty and just melted in your mouth!!  I would say if you are ever in Thorntown stop by and try the tenderlion..After dinner the family and I went and listened to the Flying Toasters( they were an awesome band) and then went and got a funnel cake for my wife and kids to share...Then we headed home...So as you can see it was kind of a boring but fun day....

As some of you know, I am coaching...I must say that I think coach has changed alot since my day in school!! When I played the coaches were all about respect and discipline and had no reservations about grabbing your face mask or about grabbing you by the shoulder pads and give you an attitude adjustment...I just want to take this time to say this...Coaching sports is just that...Football is a tough and rough game and if the child does not respect those around him he/she could get hurt...The coaches are there to coach your kids, we are not there to babysit them for you so you can have free time...If your child gets out of line then the coaches have every right to deal with the problem on the spot!!  My parents would neve had dreamed to go and yell at Bud Wright or tell him not to yell at me...And on that note, if your kids always run home and tell mom and dad that coached yelled at them..Please support the coach and do not baby them!!  The last thing I want to say is that parents and the children need to realize that once you hit the Jr. High program you may or may not play...That is the facts of life and the kids are no longer in little league...But just because your child does not play in a game it does not mean that they are not important to the team...The practice squad is the ones who make the starting squad a good team...The practice squad and the starting squad are a team and they both need each other in order to be a good team....

I am really frustrated with our Congress and our President...I am a conservative person but I will also be the first to admit that BOTH PARTIES have failed the American People but I also want to say that the AMERICAN PEOPLE have failed the American People...What do I mean by this...Here it is, we(the voters) are to blame because we have allowed the same people to be put into office year after year after year...People in Congress are lifers, they have never done anything but work in politics!! They have no idea what the average American goes through on a daily basis..They make false promises and we(the American People) buy into their lies and we put them right back into office...My thing is the President has terms limits...Why doesn't the Congress have term limits?? I think they should have limits and this way we always have new blood in office and new ideas...Just my opinion and if you don't agree....Really I don't care!!

So what am I thankful for this Saturday??  I am thankful for the time I spent with my daughter today!!  I love her more than anything but in the same instant she can have dad really ticked off...But in the end God has blessed me with a beautiful daughter and I know that God will take her bold headiness and use it for His Glory!!  Thank you Lord for my daughter!!

Friday Night Lights...Went and watched Clinton Central play Tipton last night (a home game for CC).  Well Clinton Central did not fair to well...Tipton pretty much controlled the game..Keep your heads up boys, you can only improve...It is tough when you have 2-3 freshman on the starting squad and most of the team is made up of under-classmen...But kuddos to the seniors for not giving up and giving 110% every Friday night...On a good note though Sheridan and Carmel both won their games...As most people know I graduated from Sheridan so I will always be a Blackhawk fan and support the boys of Sheridan...I follow Carmel because they are being coached by a Sheridan Blackhawk...And he is also the son of Sheridan Coach Bud Wright...So far Kevin Wright and the Greyhounds have not lost a game!!  Great job guys!!

After the football game my wife and I went to Michigantown to help with 5th Quarter...5th Quarter is a Christian outreach for grades 6-12...They meet at the Michigantown Lions Club building and have games, food and live music for the kids to come and enjoy...Then they have a small devotional and prayer and then they are free to go home...It is really a great thing to see...Kids from all different walks of life showed up last night and enjoyed..Some of the non-christian kids though left during the devotional but you know what the fact that they were there and with other Christian kids and with Christian adults showing the love of Christ...It is a really great thing!! Kuddos to Nate Whistler and Karl Kercheval for your hard work and dedication to the kids of the Clinton Central Community!!

Ohhh yeah, I took some pictures last night at the football game...They announced the junior high football boys...So I got some pictures of my son and some of his friends and other kids on the team...I used my new camera...I need to get used to the camera and the settings...Some of the pictures turned out kind of dark and others look pretty good...That's ok, I will get used to it...The sad part is with today's technology all you have to do is point and shoot but I evidently still cannot get it right!! LOL

Well what am I thankful for....Well for today I am thankful for people like Nate Whistler and Karl Kercheval..It takes special people to love kids no matter what their background is and to show them the love of Christ...Nate and Karl work very hard with the youth of our Community to show them God and His love for them...Nate and Karl, Keep up the good works and do not ever give up bringing children to God's love!!

9-23-2010

Well I am gonna start off with saying that today was really my first day back on the football field and I was excited and nervous all at the same time...It has been a while since I have coached football and walking into a new program and learning the system will be a fun challenge for me...The offense and defensive game plan is a little different than what I was/am used to but I am sure I will catch on...But one thing stays the same..As a coach, I need to teach the kids the right techniques and fundamentals of the game of football but even more important than that is that I need to so these kids that they are important and that God loves them...And to do that one must teach the kids discipline and respect!!  So today will be another practice and the kids will be announced at the varsity game tonight..Should be a fun night...On a side note, my son is a 7th grader and he tells me on the way home last night..WOW dad that is the first time I didn't see you yell at someone...LOL

The family is doing ok...I think Saturday we have some plans...I am really not sure sometimes dad is usually the last one to find out what is going on but that's okay it keeps me guessing and wondering...LOL...I am not always the greatest at telling people my plans either and I am terrible at not writing things down on the calendar so I know whats up!! It is a man thing....LOL

Kuddos to Nate Whistler for organizing the C U at the pole prayer gathering on Weds night...I think he had an awesome turn out for the first time...Nate is doing a great job bringing Christ to the kids and showing them God's love!! Keep up the great work Nate!!!

I must admit fall is my favorite time of the year..I love football, the cooler weather, sitting out around camp fires, the changing of the leaves and the cooler rides on the Harley....But I know that winter is right around the corner and I hate the snow, ice and freezing temperatures!! So here is hoping for an easy winter!!

I am not going to say much about politics today but I am going to say this...President BHO is one heck of a smooth talker but his leadership skills lack...I will admit President Bush did things that were not right but at least he did not back down and he stood his ground!! BHO talks from both ends and he has done nothing but ruin moral in this country..People say that Bush was out for the big companies?!?! Really, it looks like to me the only people BHO cares about are those who put money in his pocket!!!

So today I am thankful that God has given me the opportunity to coach again..I love working with kids and I love when my past ball players come back and see me and they still call me coach..It touches my heart to know that I can make a difference in a child's life...I will admit years ago before I knew Christ, it was all about me and making me feel good but now....It is not about me, it is about Christ and knowing that he has given me the ability to introduce Him to the kids...God is good!!

9-22-2010

WOW what a day Tuesday...It was stinking hot outside was it not??  Well, anyways it was a beautiful day regardless.

Business is slow right now but I thank the Good Lord that we have work and we are able to make ends meet!  I am sure that at some point the economy will turn around and business will pick up for all involved.  Honestly though, I get tired of all the worries and other things that go along with trying to keep a business up and operating...It is tough!!

The family is doing ok...My son had his first math test today so I hope he does well...My daughter usually has some form of homework every night but she seems to enjoy school...My wife is back in school full time so it is kind of like living the single life again...She studies and studies and studies and studies....But I am sure it will all be worth it once she is done...And for me...Wait for it.....Wait for it.....Here it comes....I have an announcement to make....I AM GOING TO BE COACHING FOOTBALL AGAIN!!! How AWESOME is THAT??!!????  I was asked if I wanted to be an assistant for the Junior High Program at Clinton Central and of course I was like Heck yes!! LOL....This should be alot of fun...I am kind of coming on board late this year but I will always have next year to look forward to the start of football season!!  I have been following Sheridan and Clinton Central in football this year...And I have to admit I think I enjoy high school football more than college or the pros...I really don't know why but I do....So anyways I am stoked about being able to coach again and work with the boys!!

Well what am I thankful for...I am thankful that God is going to allow me a chance to coach again...As I have said many times I am not a perfect Christian but I do try...And I try to be a good person and if I can just get one child to know that he or she is loved by God and to accept themselves for who they are...Then I have been a good coach!!

Well until next time!!

Monday 9/20/2010

Well I am just glad to see today over with it has been a long day....Ok so let me get started here...

Family
Well today my wife and kids were headed back to school today...My son was supposed to have a test today in Math but the teacher was absent so now his test is Tuesday...I am hoping he does well on it...My daughter is in second grade and she seems to be enjoying her teacher and the fact that she is now a second grader...My wife, I have no idea what she is studying...It is above my head and I think I will just stick with the machine shop and the engineering of food equipment....Talking about my business, it seems to be trying to pick up but the shop is still not as busy as I would like for it to be...

I have also been thinking about how short life can be..I had a friend pass away last week from cancer..He was 45 years old...WOW...that is just way to young!!  I hate cancer and what it does to people and their families...Cancer stinks....RIP Kris Ogeden....

Politics
Well most of you know where I stand politically...To be honest I think BHO is the worst President we have ever had in the history of our country..He does not care about this country or the people in it...Our economy is going down hill and all he cares about are the Unions and the special interest groups that support him..He has slammed everything from bail-outs to health care down our throats...I am really looking forward to November...I am hoping that we get new people in Congress and hopefully people who know what the blue collar workers in this country have to deal with...Honestly, I have been thinking about running as a State Rep for my district but I think for now I will run for another 4 years as a Town Councilor and then go from there...Can you imagine Randy Weaver running for President?!?!? LOL

Fantasy Football
Ok, I decided to talk about fantasy Football because I am playin in a FF league...My first year in the league I won the championship but the last 2-3 years I have come in last place...This year I won my first game and will find out tonight if I win my second game...Let's hope so....FF is a blast to play!!

God
Well as much as I believe that God should always be a part of our lives I also believe that God gave each of us special talents...For some people that is singing, for others that is playing a musical instrument, for some it is playing sports and for some it is just being there...I honestly believe that God wants us to use those talents for His Glory...And to do that sometimes means you will miss church or youth groups...Just remember that when you are on those fields of play or in the band room or choir room....These "fields" are not battle fields but they are "mission" fields....Just remember to show God's love and try your best to live according to His word...And you just might bring those people on the "mission field" to Christ....After all God did say we are to be Fishers of men correct?!?!?

Closing
Well, that is enough for today...This has been a long day and I always dread Mondays...Keep your chin up and your eyes on the Lord and things will always work out...May God bless all of you with much love!!

Saturday 9/18/2010

Well what a day it has been...My son had a football game this morning and guess what they won!!! GREAT JOB BULLDOGS!!! Son, I am very proud of you and I love you!!! So after the 7th grade game I decided to stick around and watch the 8th grade..Now the 8th grade is not having a very good year but they are giving it their all...Proud of you boys hang in there....Well later this afternoon the family and I went down to Warren Central to watch a friends daughter in the Bulldog Marching Band...They didn't when 1st place but they did a great job...So far the weekend has been awesome!! Sunday will be God's day as we go to church and worship and praise His name...I would like to say if you do not have a home church come visit us at Kirklin Assembly of God....We would love to have you there....Well, I am going to keep it short and sweet tonight...God Bless my friends and may you rest well tonight!!

My 2nd post for the day.....

Ok, I think I may have the hang of this...I am going to break my post up into a few different categories which are: Family, Politics, God and Misc....So lets get started!!

Family
This is a very busy time of the year for me and my family..The kids are back in school and my wife is also in school and then I work full time so as you can imagine life is very hectic.  My son is playing football this year and I am very proud of him for going out, he is also very involved in other school activities and likes to be a part of the solution not the problem.  My daughter is a little spit fire!! She is doing great in school and the teachers all talk about how sweet and polite she is (boy does she have them fooled). But in the end she is still daddy's girl and I love her very much but I am sure she will be the death of me!! LOL....My wife is doing great in school as well...Many Kuddos go out to my wife!! She is determined and is working her rear end off to reach her goals...I am proud of her and I should probably tell her that more often....As far as me, well business is hanging in there!! We are not near as busy as I would like to be but I am sure with BHO in office he will save the whole world, after all he promised he would right?!?!

Miscellaneous
As most of you know I am diabetic, well I am waiting on approval for my health insurance to take affect so currently I have to buy my meds out of pocket....BOY are they expensive..I cannot wait until my insurance takes affect to help bring some of that cost down...Medicine cost is outrageous but I must say I do not agree with the Universal BHO health plan that was passed.  In my opinion we need to cut out all of these silly tort claims, quit suing every doctor for everything (after all they are doctors not GOD) and we need to open up our borders to cheaper drug prices and finally we need to allow out of state insurance companies the opportunity to quote insurance to us because I think competition for insurance would be great!! Finally, take people off of welfare and medicare that don't need it and put their rear ends to work...I shouldn't have to pay for someone else to have insurance...GET A JOB PEOPLE!!

All I have to say right now is that we only have 856 more days and he is gone!!! Enough said!!!

GOD
As I mentioned earlier I am by no means a perfect christian and I do not pretend to be one..The fact is we have all sinned and fallen short of the glory of God!!  But you know what we have a very loving God and He will forgive us...We just need to strive to live a better live and to get closer to God...Baby-steps my friend is what it takes..As long as you are always moving closer to a relationship with Christ (or a stronger relationship) that is what God wants...I try everyday...Sometimes I take 3-4 steps and then I will fall back 2-3 steps but I always strive to move forward...So I encourage you to continue just to keep moving forward.

Well this is my first day post...I am sure it will get more interesting as I go along!! Please know that this is my blog and my thoughts...So in the end, I do not really care if you agree with me or not...It really does not matter..I am not here to please you or argue with you about the way I feel on certain subjects...With that said though I will look forward to your comments and look forward to making new friendships...Now go and let the light of God shine through and do something kind for someone!!

I am learning....

Ok, this is my first post so please be patient with me as I figure this all out!!  I will try to keep this post as current as possible but I will make no promises...The reason I have decided to start blogging is for the simple fact that I thought it would be fun to do and it would give me a place to rant and rave about whatever I wanted (and for those of you that know me, you know I love to stir the pot and voice my opinion on things!!).  What I hope to do with each post is to say what is on my mind, talk about everyday life and finally talk about what God has done for me and my family!!  I am a Christian man but like all men I stumble and fall in my walk..It is really hard being a Christian and trying to do what is right...Thank God for being a forgiving God...I know I am not perfect in any way shape of form but with God as my King I know that I have someone to lean on for direction...Ok, well enough for today...Lets see if this things post and see if I can get some followers!! God Bless you all!!
